Kepler Guest Observer Program

Guest Observer Proposal Preparation

NOTICE OF INTENT

The Kepler Notice of Intent (NOI) submission page will be open at the NSPIRES website on or before Nov 4, 2009. In order to expedite the proposal review process and the timely selection of scientific peer review panels, investigators intending to submit proposals for participation in this program are asked to submit a NOI to propose by the deadline to the NSPIRES website by 23:59 EST Dec 4, 2009. Note that a NOI submission is not required, but this minimal information (e.g., proposal topic, investigator names, and affiliated institutions) is of considerable value in helping NASA plan for an expeditious peer review of proposals. The NOI is not used to do a preliminary proposal assessment. Investigators unfamiliar with the NSPIRES system need to register on their website in order to submit both an NOI and their proposal.

Step-by-step instructions for the submission of an NOI:
  1. log in to the NSPIRES system using your member username and password.
  2. Click the proposals URL.
  3. Click the create NOI tab.
  4. Click the continue tab.
  5. Choose the Kepler Guest Observer - Cycle 2 button and click on the continue tab.
  6. Follow the online instructions.
